The Oral GH Secretagogue
MK-677 (Ibutamoren) is an orally active, non-peptide ghrelin receptor agonist. It stimulates GH and IGF-1 release by mimicking ghrelin's action on the pituitary. Unlike injectable GH peptides, it's taken orally once daily and provides sustained GH elevation throughout the day. It's technically a small molecule, not a peptide, but produces similar GH-axis effects.
The Injectable GH Stack
CJC-1295 (GHRH analog) + Ipamorelin (GHRP) work synergistically to produce pulsatile GH release that closely mimics the body's natural pattern. CJC-1295 amplifies GH pulse amplitude while Ipamorelin triggers the pulse. Together they produce 3–5x more GH than either alone, with cleaner hormonal profiles than MK-677.
MK-677 wins on convenience — one oral capsule daily vs daily injections. The injectable stack wins on hormonal precision and cleaner results. MK-677's main drawbacks: significant water retention (first 4–8 weeks), increased hunger (can undermine fat loss goals), and continuous rather than pulsatile GH elevation. The injectable stack produces more natural GH patterns, less water retention, and better body composition results. For pure convenience: MK-677. For optimal results: CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin.
Some advanced users combine MK-677 (10 mg/day oral) with the injectable stack for maximum IGF-1 elevation. This is an aggressive approach — monitor IGF-1 levels and watch for side effects. Not recommended for beginners.
