What is BPC-157?

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a pentadecapeptide derived from a protective protein found in human gastric juice. It is one of the most extensively researched peptides for tissue repair, gut healing, and systemic recovery. Unlike most peptides, BPC-157 is orally active and works through multiple pathways simultaneously.

Mechanism of Action

BPC-157 works primarily by upregulating growth hormone receptors, stimulating nitric oxide synthesis (promoting angiogenesis and blood vessel formation), activating the FAK-paxillin pathway for tendon healing, and modulating the dopaminergic and serotonergic systems. It also activates the VEGF pathway for accelerated tissue vascularization.

BPC-157 Dosing Protocol

250–500 mcg/day subcutaneous or intramuscular injection near injury site. For systemic/gut effects: 500 mcg–1 mg/day oral (capsule or dissolved in water). Cycle: 4–8 weeks. Some researchers use 200 mcg twice daily for chronic conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions about BPC-157

How long does BPC-157 take to work?
Most users report noticeable improvement in injury pain and mobility within 1–2 weeks of daily injections. Gut healing effects can be felt within days. Full tissue repair typically takes 4–8 weeks.
Can I take BPC-157 orally?
Yes — BPC-157 is unique among peptides in that it is stable in gastric acid and orally bioavailable. Oral dosing at 500 mcg–1 mg/day is effective for gut conditions and systemic effects, though injectable is preferred for localized injury healing.
Does BPC-157 cause cancer?
No evidence of carcinogenicity exists in any published study. BPC-157 actually shows anti-tumor properties in some research, and its angiogenic effects are localized to healing tissue, not tumor promotion.
