What is Thymosin Alpha-1?
Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1) is a 28-amino acid peptide derived from the thymus gland. It is the most studied thymic peptide and is approved in over 35 countries (as Zadaxin) for hepatitis B, hepatitis C, cancer immunotherapy, and immune deficiency. It is one of the most powerful immune-modulating compounds available.
Mechanism of Action
Tα1 activates dendritic cells, T-helper cells (Th1), and NK cells. It upregulates MHC class I and II expression, stimulates interferon-α and IL-2 production, activates Toll-like receptor signaling, and promotes T-cell maturation in the thymus. It shifts the immune response from Th2 (allergic/inflammatory) to Th1 (antiviral/anti-tumor).
Thymosin Alpha-1 Dosing Protocol
1.6 mg subcutaneous injection twice weekly (standard clinical dose). For acute infections: 1.6 mg daily for 5–7 days. For cancer immunotherapy: 1.6 mg twice weekly during treatment. Cycle: 6–12 weeks for immune restoration.
